Pillow cases
We have a collection of important ‘Suzani’ textiles in our Roman apartment and in Le Sirenuse hotel. These are Central Asian embroideries passed on from mother to daughter as dowry or gifts. They serve as decoration in the tribal tents or genteel homes of the nomad populations from the steppes North of Iran.
We conceived these pillows, which are hand embroidered in Mumbai on silk burette, as a minimalist evolution of the suzani traditional patterns. One small decoration, that is normally repeated endless times in a busy embroidery, was enlarged and placed at the center of a pillow.
These pillows decorate the chairs and sofas of Aldo’s Bar at Le Sirenuse in Positano.
